We take a look at the League of Legends support meta in Patch 10.1.

Although there were a lot of champion changes in Patch 10.1, the biggest changes to the support meta came in another round of support item balances. With these combined with buffs to Nami and Zyra, it’s anyone’s guess whether the meta will be completely shaken up or just remain the same. We examine which are the best and worst support champions for you to play in League of Legends to kick off your ranked climb.

Observations

More from Blog of Legends

Despite the itemization changes to the support roster as a whole, there is really no big change in terms of which champions rank in that top ten. However, it is interesting to note that the three highest-rated Enchanter supports – Janna, Senna, and Soraka – all dipped slightly from last patch. We’ll ignore Nami’s improvement, since she got direct buffs in Patch 10.1.

The champion who improved the most in Patch 10.1 was Nami, who rose to high-A tier after her buffs. However, Alistar also rose from D tier to mid-C tier in this patch.

Shaco took the biggest hit to his ranking in Patch 10.1 following a bunch of nerfs during the preseason. He’s now currently in the low-B tier.

The top three champions in terms of win rate are Volibear (54%), Shaco (53.3%), and Taric (52.9%). None of them have a pick rate over 2.5%. The highest win-rate support with a pick rate over 5% is Leona (52.9% win rate, 14.3% pick rate).

The three lowest win rate supports in Patch 10.1 are Malphite (43.6%), Neeko (43.7%), and Ashe (44.7%), but they all have pick rates of 1% or lower. Pyke is the lowest win rate champion with a pick rate over 5% (45.8% win rate, 12.3% pick rate).
