League of Legends: Patch 10.6 Aggregated Support Tier List
By Josh Tyler
We look at the state of the support role of Patch 10.6 in League of Legends in our latest support tier list.
A few meta supports got changes in Patch 10.6, leaving this iteration of the support tier list looking largely the same as that of the last patch. Still, if you need to know who are the best supports in League of Legends, our tier list can provide answers.

- Even though she’s the number one support in our support tier list, Senna took the biggest drop of any champion on this list. Yes, she’s still S tier but she is also sitting at a win rate just barely over 50% in this patch. On the other hand, Morgana got the biggest improvement on our support tier list thanks to the buffs she received in Patch 10.6, going up to A+ tier from B tier.
- The winningest support in Patch 10.6 is, Maokai (54.6%), with a 2.9% pick rate. Bard remains the best support in terms of those with a significant (grater than 5%) pick rate. He has a 53.7% win rate in the current patch.
- Among the champions on our support tier list in Patch 10.6, Veigar has the worst win rate at 47.4% (with a less than one percent pick rate). Other champions at the bottom of the barrel in terms of win rate include Tahm Kench (47.7%) and Pyke (48%).
Buffed Champions
Morgana
As we mentioned above, the buffs to Morgana brought her up into the A+ tier of our support tier list for Patch 10.6 and brought up her win rate by 1.3%. The buff to her Black Shield’s strength certainly seems to have paid off, as Morg should be a good counter to most of the engage supports that dominated the position in the past.
Soraka
Top laners screamed in terror as Soraka’s Starcall was buffed. She got a boost to her heal and movement speed when landing her ability but is still languishing in the C tier of the support tier list. However, she is trending upward both in our rankings and her win rate (up 1.5%) so look out for her creeping back into the meta.
Veigar
Support Viegar has always been a niche pick, but buffs to his base stats and the base damage on his Baleful Strike (important, since that affects his lane harass as a support) should have been a boon to the little guy. Alas, as we noted above, he has the worst win rate in the support role and is dead last in our support tier list.
Xerath
Another off-meta pick, Xerath got buffs that were a bit more geared towards his mid lane power, with damage amps on his W and R abilities. Unlike Veigar, however, Xerath actually improved his rating as a support, moving from the D to C tiers in Patch 10.6 and getting a giant spike to his pick rate in the support role (though his win rate remained flat).
Nerfed Champions
Senna
She got hit much harder in the ADC role, but the nerfs to Senna’s passive did have a striking effect even if she remains S tier. Her win rate in the support role is down over 2% from the previous patch.
Shaco
Shaco support has been in a bit of an awkward state between in the meta and a strong, fringe-meta pick. With the nerfs to his Hallucinate’s AD Shaco has surprisingly moved up our support tier list to B tier. However, it’s important to note that most Shaco supports build him AP so this nerf really didn’t affect that build.
Methodology: These rankings were determined by finding the average standardized score of a champion from nine different tier lists from sites around the internet. This is done by assigning a certain weight to each different score, rank, or grade given by these sites (for instance, both a “Diamond” rating and “A” grade would be worth a 90 score). The standardized score is then determined by looking at the average score given to all champions in every role by that site as well as the standard deviation of scores given (so that sites that give out more high grades will not have their As be worth the same as a site that gives out very few high grades).
The full, underlying data can be found here. This link also includes the full listing of how the scores are assigned. Champions must be rated by at least half of the sites audited in order to qualify for our tier list.
