Here are the five best champions in TFT that should be the centerpiece of your comp in Patch 10.6!

With the start of Set 3 and Galaxies, the TFT meta has been reset. As players are beginning to discover the best comps competitively, we are breaking down the strongest champions that you should center your comps around. We name the five best champions in TFT’s current meta that you should be looking to get to 2 or 3-stars, level up, stack items on, and flex your comps around.

1. Kayle

Kayle can fit into almost any comp as Valkyries only require two champion slots and Miss Fortune (a fellow Valkyrie and Mercenary) is an incredibly strong late-game champion in her own right. With their guaranteed crit on targets below half health, any time you can get either of these champions with Infinity Edge you’re set up for success.

Build Kayle when: You have a lot of attack speed items or Blademasters in your comp.

Key items: Guinsoo’s Rageblade, Infinity Edge.

Other items that work on Kayle: Hand of Justice, Statik Shiv, Last Whisper, QSS

Comps for Kayle:

  • Valkyrie/Rebel: Kayle (*), Miss Fortune (*), Master Yi (*), Yasuo, Aurelion Sol, Ziggs, Malphite/Sona, Jinx
  • Valkyrie/Cybernetic: Kayle (*), Miss Fortune (*), Lucian (*), Vi, Ekko, Leona, Fiora, Irelia
  • Valkyrie/Chrono: Kayle (*), Miss Fortune (*), Ezreal (*), Blitzcrank, Shen, Thresh, Wukong, Caitlyn/Twisted Fate,

Second Carries to Pair with Kayle: Miss Fortune (always)

2. Miss Fortune

The other half of the Valkyrie duo, MF is arguably the better of the pair to build your comp around. The only problem is, as a 5-cost unit she’s much harder to come by.

Build MF when: Whenever you can get her, honestly.

Key Items: Seraph’s Embrace, Deathcap, QSS

Other items: Infinity Edge, Hand of Justice, Jeweled Gauntlet

Comps for Miss Fortune:

  • Any of the Kayle comps
  • Blasters/Chrono: Miss Fortune (*), Jinx (*), Ezreal (*), Lucian, Blitzcrank, Thresh, Shen
  • Blasters/Rebels: Miss Fortune (*), Jinx (*), Gangplank (*), Malphite, Master Yi/Yasuo, Ziggs, Sona, Aurelion Sol
  • Blasters/Cybernetic: Miss Fortune (*), Lucian (*), Ekko (*), Vi, Leona, Fiora, Irelia, Shen

Second Carries to Pair with Dr. Mundo: Jinx (Chrono), Ezreal (Rebels), Lucian (Cybernetic)

3. Gangplank

The other Mercenary along with Miss Fortune, GP is a fantastic champ to build your comp around and easily one of the best champions in TFT at the moment.

Build Gangplank when: Like Miss Fortune, whenever you can.

Key Items: Guardian Angel

Other items: Death Cap, Ionic Spark, Dragon Claw, Hand of Justice

Comps for Gangplank:

  • Rebel/Demolitionist: Gangplank (*), Ziggs (*), Malphite, Yasuo/Master Yi, Sona, Aurelion Sol, Jinx, Lulu/Miss Fortune
  • Space Pirate/Vanguard: Gangplank (*), Jayce (*), Graves, Darius, Mordekaiser (*), Wukong, Poppy

Second Carries to Pair with Gangplank: Ziggs (Rebel), Jayce (Space Pirates)

4. Jhin

Jhin actually fits into multiple meta comps in TFT, even though Snipers aren’t considered to be one of the strongest comps on their own.

Build Jhin when: You can get Runaan’s Hurricane and Infinity Edge.

Key items: Runaan’s Hurricane and Infinity Edge.

Other items that work: Guardian Angel, Death Blade, Hand of Justice.

Comps for Jhin:

  • “Jhinguard”: Jhin (*), Ashe (*), Mordekaiser, Wukong, Poppy, Jayce, Karma, Lulu
    • You can also drop two Vanguards (Poppy and Jayce, ideally) for two additional Mystics, but only do this if the top enemies are stacking magic damage.
  • Dark Star/Protector: Jhin (*), Jarvan, Rakan, Xin Zhao (*), Neeko, Ashe, Karma, Lulu
    • Like Jhinguard, again you can drop the two Mystics for Vanguard.
  • Dark Star/Infiltrator: Jhin (*), Shaco (*), Mordekaiser/Jarvan, Lux, Karma, Fizz, Ekko

Second Carries to Pair with Jhin: Ashe (always), Xin Zhao (Protector), Shaco (Dark Star)

5. Rumble

Rumble isn’t an incredibly flexible pick in Patch 10.6, but he does slot in as the key carry in one of the strongest comps.

Build Rumble when: You’re going Mech-Pilot.

Key items: Guardian Angel.

Other items that work on Rumble: QSS, Warmogs, Bramble Vest, Dragon’s Claw, Ionic Spark
