LCS Summer 2020 Week 1 is in the books, here is where the teams sit in our LCS power rankings.

After the first week of play in the LCS Summer 2020, we already see that there is a pretty clear gap with a few teams languishing at the bottom of the standings and a few others ahead of the pack. But where the teams with the same records fit compared to each other is another matter, which is where our weekly LCS power rankings come into play.

Based on the elos assigned to each team in our preseason rankings, we can calculate the relative strength of each team based on who they beat and who beat them to determine our LCS power rankings. We’ll see that, while Cloud9 are still the kings, they may have some competition at the top in the LCS Summer 2020.

10. Immortals (0-2)

Elo: 179 (-144)

I mean, it was ugly watching this team get completely dusted by FlyQuest and then get embarrassed by a CLG team that was coming off getting perfect gamed by Evil Geniuses the day before. If you’re looking for positives, their rookie jungler Joseph “Potluck” Pollock didn’t seem to be completely out of place, limiting his deaths per game to three in his first two games of action.

On the downside, though, the bot lane replacements of swapping Johnny “Altec” Ru for Apollo “Apollo” Price at ADC and Austin “Gate” Yu for Nickolas “Hakuho” Surgent at support looks disastrous. Gate, in particular, looked quite bad posting a 2/8/7 KDA over the two games.

9. Dignitas (0-2)

Elo: 181 (-183)

On the plus side, Dignitas lost to two teams that should be at least somewhat decent in Golden Guardians and TSM. And, against GGS they actually managed to put up a decent fight. Unfortunately, they got waxed by a TSM team that had themselves just gotten crushed by Team Liquid and looked completely dysfunctional in that game.

New top laner Omran “V1per” Shoura, in particular, looked terrible, going 1/8/6 in those two games including getting solo-killed in lane or while split from the team multiple times. Apart from him and perhaps support Zaqueri “Aphromoo” Black, the rest of the team looked quite good, so there is hope that DIG can still push for that 7th/8th playoff spot.
