We give our TFT tier list for Patch 10.13 to show the best units and comps.

Patch 10.13 gave us our first balance patch following the mid-set update from the patch prior. With new, problematic champions like Teemo and Riven being brought back into orbit and a new galaxy in the meta, it’s time for us to look to our TFT tier list to see which comps are the strongest in the meta.

We’ll examine whether the Teemo nerfs have destroyed the Astro/Sniper comp, whether Kog’Maw became OP after all the buffs, and just how broken the Mystic/Vanguard comp is after the Cassiopeia buffs. All that and more in our TFT tier list!

Best compositions

In accordance with our rankings of the best champions, Classes and Origins, we now give you our best comps in Patch 10.13 based on the rankings from our TFT tier list. This will denote the units you should buy in each comp, as well as the best supplemental synergies to pair those comps with. We will also include any variations, advantages, or disadvantages to be aware of in specific Galaxies, if applicable.

We will put an asterisk next to the units that should be the main focus of these comps, to get to 2 or 3-stars and put items on. Note that when we recommend specific units of a Class/Origin but omit others for your pairings, we are saying these are the options we would consider to be above average or worthwhile additions to your comp.

  • Battlecast/Mystic: Cassiopeia (*), Viktor (*), Urgot (*), Kog’Maw, Karma, Lulu, Soraka
    • Slow roll comp (level normally to Level 6 and then begin rolling for Cassiopeia).
    • Round out this comp with
      • Rakan or Xin Zhao (for Protectors and Celestial).
      • Xerath (for Dark Stars and Sorcerers).
    • Works well in
      • Trade Sector (always good for a slow roll comp).
      • Neekoverse (to accelerate slow roll comp).
  • 6 Cybernetic: Ekko (*), Irelia (*), Vayne (*), Vi, Lucian, Leona
    • Push 8 comp (spend gold to level rather than prioritizing accumulating low-cost carries).
    • Round out the comp with
      • Thresh and Riven, swap Fiora for Leona (for Chrono and Blademasters).
      • Thresh and Caitlyn (for Chrono and Snipers).
      • Wukong and Caitlyn (for Chrono, Vanguard, and Snipers).
      • Gnar and Nautilus (for Brawlers and Vanguards, plus you can push for Astros if you hit nine units).
    • Galaxies this works well in
      • Neekoverse (to guarantee you get a 2-star Irelia/Riven).
      • Treasure Trove (more money early to level quickly and get to carries OR to get items for your carries).
      • Medium Legends (more time to get to higher levels and carries).
  • Blaster/Brawler: Gnar (*), Blitzcrank, Vi, Malphite, Jinx (*), Ezreal (*), Lucian, Kog’Maw
    • Push 8 comp (spend gold to level rather than prioritizing accumulating low-cost carries).
    • Round out comp with
      • Graves (swap for Kog’Maw).
    • Galaxies this works well in
      • Treasure Trove (more money early to level quickly and get to carries).
      • Superdense (with 10 units at max levels you can possibly add two more Chronos like Riven and Thresh).
  • Astro/Brawlers: Teemo, Gnar (*), Nautilus, Vayne (*), Blitzcrank, Vi, Malphite
    • Push 8 comp (spend gold to level rather than prioritizing accumulating low-cost carries).
    • Round out comp with
      • Jhin (you can switch with Vayne as the primary carry).
      • Wukong (for Chrono and Vanguard).
      • Riven or Thresh (for Chrono).
      • You can also go Caitlyn and Vayne/Jhin for 4 Snipers plus you get Chrono, but you would have to hit Level 9 or get Force of Nature.
    • Galaxies this works well in
      • Treasure Trove (more money early to level quickly and get to carries).
      • Superdense Galaxy (to guarantee getting 9 units so you can go Snipers as well).

Concluding notes

While there’s not much more these aggregations can tell us with certainty with regards to comps or items, here is what the data from our TFT tier list can tell you about what to look for within your next Teamfight Tactics game.

  • Just about all of the strongest comps in the meta right now are Push 8 comps, with a few slow roll comps sprinkled in. My recommendation would be to always level for a fast Level 8 so you can get to those priority carries quickly.
  • Battlecast has risen up in Patch 10.13 after receiving some pretty decent buffs. Even after the nerfs, Astros are still quite strong, however the Astro/Sniper comp has fallen off to be replaced by Astro/Brawlers.
  • I would expect defensive items like Chain Vest and Negatron Cloak to be the most-prioritized items in Patch 10.13 based on the champions that were rated highly in this TFT tier list. BF Swords, Recurve Bows, and Tears will also still likely be high-priority, while Giants Belts, Needlessly Large Rods, and Brawler’s Gloves are likely the lowest priority.
