League of Legends: Breaking Down Dreamy Jungler Lillia and Her Abilities
By Josh Tyler
Riot just teased the newest champion to join the League of Legends roster in Lillia. Let’s take a look at her and her kit!
The Spirit Blossom event will kick off on July 22 and it will be led by the newest champion in League of Legends. Lillia, the Bashful Bloom, will be galloping out of the forest soon and we now have her champion insights and abilities, so let’s give them a look!
"Passive – Dream-Laden Bough: Lillia’s abilities apply Dream Dust, dealing a portion of the target’s maximum health as magic damage over a duration."
Okay, a pretty standard passive that gives Lillia extra damage from her abilities. Since it’s percent max health damage that will help her with her jungle clear (she’s been teased as a jungler) but it could also make her viable as a top laner, mid laner, or support into tanks.
"Q – Blooming Blows: Lillia swings her branch in the air and deals magic damage to nearby enemies, dealing true damage to those at the outer edge of the circle. When she successfully lands the attack, Lillia also gets movement speed."

This looks a lot like Darius’s Q, with two concentric circles. Like Darius, you’ll want to land the outer circle for the maximum damage, which will apply whether you’re taking her jungle or in lane (this probably makes her less viable as a support). I would also expect that this will be your “bread-and-butter” skill that you’ll max first.
"W – Watch Out! Eep!: Lillia winds up for a huge strike with her branch, dealing magic damage to enemies. Enemies at the center of the impact receive more damage."
This looks sort of like a melee version of Veigar W, doing magic damage in a small area. Again, you’ll be trying to land this on the enemy in the center for max damage but it should be a good opening to your combo (W and then walk away from your target to hit them with the outer ring of your Q). Probably, you will max this second.
"E – Swirlseed: Lillia lobs a Swirlseed overhead, dealing magic damage to enemies and slowing them for a duration. If Lillia’s Swirlseed misses, it’ll continue to roll until it hits an enemy or collides with terrain."
This appears to be a line skill shot that slows the first target (it doesn’t say champion, so I’m guessing minions can intercept it) hit. If she is being taken as a jungler, this would be her only form of CC on her basic abilities and it’s only a slow, so that means she’s not going to be that effective as an early game ganker.
However, if she’s played in a lane like top or mid, this could be a great ability for disengaging or setting up ganks. It could also be a way for her to farm from range, as it keeps rolling until it hits an enemy or terrain (so theoretically, she could throw it from anywhere).
If that’s the case, it could also allow her to initiate ganks from much further away as a jungler, throwing her seed from way out of the fog. But in that case, the gank would be telegraphed and the ally laner would need some hard CC to guarantee the seed hits.
"R – Lilting Lullaby: Lillia casts a lullaby over her enemies and those affected by her Dream Dust become increasingly slowed before falling asleep for a duration of time. When awakened by damage, enemies will take additional magic damage."
So Zoe gets another friend in her sleepover, as Lillia can also put enemies to sleep. This appears to be a point-and-click ability, though, so this would make her quite powerful in combination with her Swirlseed to initiate a gank from long range. In the scenario above, if the laner stuns his enemy, allowing the Swirlseed to land, the enemy is basically dead as Lillia can just walk up, sleep him, and dump all her damage onto him.
By the same token, this would also make Lillia a very strong top laner because she has that threat to all-in every time she hits an enemy with any ability (remember they all apply Dream Dust). That gives her a massive amount of zone control in the game.
Overall, I think Lillia will be a decently strong jungler once she gets her ultimate, but I think she could also be an underrated top lane pick as an answer to tanks and melee fighters. We’ll have to wait and see when she blooms in a couple of weeks!
