We give our League of Legends tier list for Patch 10.16.

One of our longest patch cycles of Season 10 begins with Patch 10.16 having dropped just last week. While Rioters take a deserved break, solo queue players across the world are trying to figure out how to climb the ranked ladder in League of Legends, and our tier list is here to give you the edge!

Our aggregated League of Legends tier list pulled data from nine different sites around the internet to see how they each ranked the top champions in each role in Patch 10.16. From that, we are able to give our average ranking of each champion that was graded or listed in at least half of those tier lists. As always, you can find the link to all the underlying data here.

Rising Picks

The biggest riser in Patch 10.16 was Hecarim, who was in the D tier but is now knocking on the door of the B tier. It’s quite the swing from last patch when he looked to be falling out of the top lane meta.

Dropping Picks

Thanks to the nerfs this patch, Volibear has fallen out of the A tier in the top lane, down to mid-B tier.

Underrated Picks

For the second patch in a row, Shen remains an incredibly strong pick despite having a pick rate under 5%. Ditto for Wukong and Riven, who are lower on the tier list but still have sub-5% pick rates.

Overrated Picks

Aatrox, Irelia, and Jayce remain stallwarts in the “top ten pick rates in the role but ranked B tier or lower” club. They’re now joined by Akali, who has the sixth-highest pick rate in the role but is a low-B tier top laner.

Buffed Champions

Yone

Technically he’s just a new champion, but Yone has barely managed to sneak onto our top lane tier list. I wouldn’t put a ton of stock into this initial ranking and give it a patch before players figure out Yone before we properly evaluate his power level.

Akali

She jumped into the overrated category thanks to those buffs to her Q damage and changing her E to magic damage. Unfortunately, despite the increased pick rate, she hasn’t moved too much on our tier list.

Fiora

Back before the patch dropped I noted that Fiora’s buffs were going to be super impactful and no surprise, that turned out to be true. The buffs to her Q cooldown and the on-hit cooldown reduction propelled her from the high-A+ tier into the S tier.

Hecarim

A buff to the bonus movement speed on his E gave the pony some more gallop in the top lane, making him the biggest riser in this patch.

Jax

Who on earth thought the Patch 10.16 buffs to his E were a good idea? Spoiler, they weren’t as Jax is twirling his lamp all the way to the S tier.

Lucian

We’ll touch on the buffs more in the ADC section, but top lane Lucian benefitted as well, rising from the D to the C tier.

Neeko

Not much to talk about the Curious Chameleon in the top lane, she’s still a niche pick.

Yasuo

Increased damage on his ultimate and two additional MR didn’t really affect Yasuo’s top lane standing. He’s still in the mid-C tier even after the buffs.

Nerfed Champions

Sett

Losing damage off his W and E knocked Sett out of the A tier, though he’s not that far out.

Volibear

And, as noted above, losing bonus movement speed on his Q casued Volibear to suffer the biggest drop in his ranking on this tier list.
