The official patch notes for League of Legends Patch 10.20 have been released

The 2020 League of Legends World Championship may be the primary focus of the community right now but for solo queue specialists, the most important news is the release of Patch 10.20.

Although the bulk of the major balance changes will no doubt be saved for the arrival of Preseason 2021, there are still vital buffs and nerfs to be made in order to maintain peace on Summoner’s Rift.

More from Blog of Legends

There are a total of 14 champion changes and 1 rune change on Patch 10.20 all aimed at targeting the strongest and weakest aspects of the current meta and bringing them into line. By removing the greatest outliers, League of Legends will move towards a more balanced state ahead of the end of the ranked season.

Patch 10.20 looks to shift the top lane meta with big changes targeted at a selection of overpowered and underpowered champions in the role.

The first major change is for Aatrox with the balance team looking to improve the Darkin Blade’s late game survivability in order to increase his DPS and reduce his mid game damage falloff. To do this, World Ender will see its self-healing increased by 15% at rank 2 and 30% at rank 3.

Illaoi is the recipient of the second largest top lane change of Patch 10.20. The Kraken Priestess will have the opportunity to spawn a ton more tentacles with her Passive – Prophet of an Elder God during the mid to late game as its cooldown has been reduced by 4.75 seconds at max rank.

This should give Illaoi the edge in some duels and extended teamfights with her DPS being heavily reliant on the number of tentacles on the map.

Finally, Sion is also being hit with an exciting buff on Patch 10.20. The Undead Juggernaut will now deal increased damage to monsters based on his total attack damage.

While this doesn’t really have much impact on top lane Sion, it could potentially open up the opportunity to use the champion as a flex pick between solo lanes and jungle, depending on how this change develops over the next few weeks and months.
