Renekton is a staple of solo queue and professional play, so we’re ready to rank each of his skins!

Renekton is a top laner who will always be relevant. Whether it’s in professional games or your Silver IV solo queue match, Renekton does everything well for a top laner, from being a front-liner to a lane bully and split-push monster. With 11 skins in his arsenal, there are plenty of choices for top lane mains who want to cosplay as a T-Rex, and we’re here to rank every one of them!

With everything from an Outback-styled gator to an intergalactic dinosaur to a dinosaur toy, Renekton players have their pick of which skin they prefer. The big question, then, is which of his skins is the best deal in the League of Legends store?

11. Bloodfury Renekton

Price: 975 RP

Although it’s an older skin (released in 2012), this does hold up better than most skins because Renekton and his early skins got a visual update in 2018. That said, the price of this skin is much higher as a result, it has no new animations, and it’s just one of many “armored croc” skins in his collection. And the armor is pretty underwhelming for the price.

10. Rune Wars Renekton

Price: 975 RP

Another “armored croc” skin, Rune Wars barely wins out over Bloodfury because it’s rarer (it’s currently in the Legacy Vault). I wouldn’t sprint to pick this one up, but if you have limited RP and want to finish the set of Renekton skins, Rune Wars is one to pick up when it’s available.

9. Galactic Renekton

Price: 520 RP

At least this “armored croc” skin is cheaper than the other two, and it’s also a legacy skin so the rarity should get you excited. Also, of the three armored skins that we’ve already discussed, this is the first skin where the armor doesn’t look horrible.

8. Prehistoric Renekton

Price: 750 RP

This should be one of the best skins for the Butcher of the Sands, yet it’s just very underwhelming. Yes, you get to cosplay as a freakin’ T-Rex, but there are no new animations and the skin itself is quite dull. It only ranks this high because it’s finally a different theme than “armored croc.”

7. Hextech Renekton

Price: 10 Gemstones

The Hextech skins are among the most underwhelming in League of Legends, in my opinion, and Renekton’s is no different. The skin looks like a children’s cartoon show villain, with colorful lights and dulled edges. Given the cost you must expend to get Gemstones (either by playing or with RP), this is a hard-pass.

6. Outback Renekton

Price: 520 RP

This is one of the first skins that came with the Butcher of the Sands on his release, way back in 2011, and it surprisingly holds up well following the champion’s visual update. The skin itself looks clean and, despite the fact that there are no new effects or animations, it’s enough to justify the low price. Plus, it’s one of the coolest splash arts in the game.

5. Renektoy

Price: 750 RP

The concept fits the champion perfectly, as our favorite killer croc is miniaturized into an action figure-version of himself. What’s not to love?

Well, there aren’t any new animations to go along with the champion, the effects are very basic, and the champ model looks kind of bland and blocky. That last part is intentional, by the way, since Renektoy is meant to look like a LEGO piece, but it still holds this skin back from breaking the upper echelon.

4. SKT T1 Renekton

Price: 975 RP

Normally, I think the skins given out to commemorate the World Champions fall a bit short, but I have to admit this skin is well worth the buy. Given to honor SKT T1’s 2015 World Champion and top laner MaRin, the SKT skin looks slick and cool, with enough new animations to justify the purchase.

3. Blackfrost Renekton

Price: 1350 RP

His most recent (and most expensive) skin, you have plenty of options to upgrade the Blackfrost skin with chromas should you choose. And, don’t get me wrong, this is a beautiful skin, coming complete with upgraded ability effects and animations. Unfortunately, the high price keeps it from moving higher, as it just doesn’t offer that much more than the other two skins on this list.

2. Scorched Earth Renekton

Price: 975 RP

It might be shocking that we’ve gone full circle back to “armored croc” but the Scorched Earth skin is in a class all its own. For starters, this skin comes with a bunch of new effects (his ult looks gorgeous with the fire spewing around him) and animations. Another plus for this skin is that the champion looks menacing and you really feel that theme of him being a molten crocodile. This skin is great, even if it is a bit pricy.

1. Pool Party Renekton

Price: 975 RP

Just look at that recall animation and tell me this isn’t the best of his skins. Please, explain how seeing a lifeguard chair popping out of Summoners Rift as this giant crocodile flexes and screams at beach-goers isn’t the coolest thing in this game.

Even beyond the recall animation, though, the Pool Party skin is great because it puts Renekton into a shared universe with all the other Pool Party goers and gives him a unique role as lifeguard. The effects on the skin are gorgeous (with bubbles encircling him during his ult.

Finally, the champion model is colorful, interesting (he’s holding one of those lifeguard rescue boards instead of his cleaving blade), and most importantly unique from all the other skins he has. This is not just one of the best skins you can have on the Butcher of the Sands, it’s one of the best skins in the game.
