Akali is one of the most fun and frustrating champions in League of Legends, so let’s rank all her skins!

While Akali’s rework made her far more skillful, it has been wrought with controversy. After the rework, though, she became far more popular a pick in the mid and top lanes. As a result, there are a lot more Akali mains now than there were in Season 8, and more League of Legends players interested in buying her skins.

With 12 skins in her collection (including the upcoming K/DA ALL OUT skin), there are lots of options if you’re a fan of the Rogue Assassin. Here are all of the Akali skins in League of Legends, ranked from worst to best.

12. All-Star Akali

Price: 975 RP

While the All-Star skin is one of those unique legacy skins that used to accompany a major sporting event (this was released during the 2010 World Cup), this is honestly one of the uglier Akali skins in the game. No new effects or animations and the champion model just looks ugly. To add insult to injury, this is also a fairly pricy skin compared to some of her other (better skins).

11. Silverfang Akali

Price: 975 RP

Another pricy skin without the bells and whistles to justify the price, Silverfang really feels close to the champion base model with silver paint slapped on top of it. At least the Assassin’s Mark indicators are colored differently, but otherwise this is a very basic skin.

10. Sashimi Akali

Price: 750 RP

A little cheaper, the Sashimi skin ranks this low mainly because of the unrealized potential. I’m not saying they had to go full cartoon and make the shurikens into skewers or anything like that, but for a champion whose animations include her eating a bowl of ramen, I think Riot vastly missed the mark by not really including any unique effects.

9. Stinger Akali

Price: 520 RP

This is another “coat of paint” skin, but it’s the cheapest of the bunch. Although this might be the ugliest of all the Akali champion models, I do give Riot credit that a skin this cheap comes with some effects (her passive’s indicator is a yellow/gold as opposed to the standard lime green).

8. PROJECT: Akali

Price: 1350 RP

I hate seeing a PROJECT skin that’s done poorly because I’m such a fan of the theme and skin line, and this one qualifies. The effects on her passive are underwhelming, the champion model is more Danny Phantom than PROJECT, and the new animations are kind of odd. Adding some little drones surrounding her during recall? It feels like they really tried to shoehorn her into the PROJECT world.

7. True Damage Akali

Price: 1350 RP

This is a good skin, I won’t lie. But the price is particularly high for what you’re getting. Yes, it has all the bells and whistles you expect, but it just lacks a lot of the flair you’d expect from a high-profile skin like this.

The champion model is clumsy-looking, the effects on her abilities are nice and play into the musical aspect but are otherwise not special, and her new animations are fine. It’s a good skin, but for this price I expect more.

6. Infernal Akali

Price: 520 RP

If you’re looking for the best bargain on this list, you really can’t go wrong with Infernal Akali. This skin as plenty of cool new effects and animations to go with a low price point. Unfortunately, the effects and animations aren’t mind-blowing (she just kind of glows) and the champion model is quite hideous.

5. Nurse Akali

Price: 975 RP

It’s a basic skin, with no new animations and only a few new effects, so many might be puzzled to have the Nurse skin this high, especially given the not-so-generous price. The answer is quite simple: the champion model. Of all the Akali champion models, this skin is unquestionably the best of the bunch and well worth the buy.

4. K/DA Akali

Price: 1350 RP

All of the top four Akali skins are worth the price, no question. But the original K/DA skin ranks this low because of the high price. That said, it has everything else you want in a skin.

The color scheme and her champion model is beautiful, the animations are unique and cool, and the effects on her abilities, while often understated, work well. This is just a darn good skin and don’t let the fact that it’s not at the top of this list dissuade you from buying it (or cosplayers from rocking it).

3. Bloodmoon Akali

Price: 975 RP

The Bloodmoon skins don’t get nearly enough love, in my opinion, and Akali’s is no exception. The effects and particles on her abilities are wonderful to look at, with red pedals following her as she dashes across Summoner’s Rift. The one draw back is her champion model isn’t that great, but at this price you can swallow a minor flaw.

2. Headhunter Akali

Price: 1350 RP

While there aren’t that many new particles and her new animations are fairly understated, the color scheme is just gorgeous. The hot pink of her daggers pops immediately on the champion model and it looks amazing on the ability effects. Bottom line, there’s enough here to keep you coming back to play with this skin over and over, just to watch the effects.

1. K/DA ALL OUT Akali

Price: 1350 RP

Not out as of the writing of this piece, the K/DA ALL OUT skin is coming to live on Patch 10.23 and I can say from the skin spotlight it’s the best of the bunch. The champion model looks great, as you would expect, with a clean poof of purple hair that makes her look clean and less cluttered like other Akali champion models (like Bloodmoon).

Her effects are gorgeous, with maybe the best styling and color scheme on her passive’s mark and the effects on her shuriken and ult are both lovely (I love the trail that follows the shuriken and her model after she ults). What really pushed this skin to the top for me, though, was that this is the first skin that really stylized her shroud. It has a very “fog machine” type look, which gives this skin something we don’t get on other Akali skins.
