With the new items hitting League of Legends in Preseason 11, here are fifteen builds that have been dominating the Rift.

Every time the preseason patch goes live, players realize that something in League of Legends is absolutely broken. Last year, with the rise of the Elemental Dragons and the introduction of turret plates, the entire game’s meta shifted to be more focused on dragon stacking and taking Rift Herald for plates. It’s only been a few days into Preseason 11, but already some absolutely bonkers builds have come to light.

These builds cross champions and sometimes even classes, displaying some insane synergy between items. We have five champion builds per role that have stood out to make certain champions overpowered as heck during the preseason. If you’re looking to bolster your MMR during Preseason 11, look to see if you can make these builds work.

Top Lane

1. Riftmaker Akali

More from Blog of Legends

Riftmaker has stood out early on in Preseason 11 as perhaps the strongest AP Mythic. Paired with Demonic embrace, though, it’s giga-broken on Akali. She has the second-highest pick rate among top laners (9.98%) but her win rate is up 4% from Season 10.

For this build, you’ll go Riftmaker into Demonic Embrace. This combo will give you up to 15% true damage and burn enemies for 1.5% max health damage, meaning you can slice through tanks and squishies alike. After these two items, you can pick up Morellonomicon to deal with healing or Zhonya’s Hourglass if you need the safety.

2. Liandry’s Heimerdinger

Words top laners hate to hear: “Heimerdinger is back. Despite the fact that his pick rate has remained stable, Heimerdinger’s win rate has spiked to 61.68% in Preseason 11, the best in the top lane.

For the build, go Liandry’s Anguish into Morellonomicon. This isn’t exactly a revelatory build on Heimer compared to Season 10, but this build will burn and shred enemies, while reducing their healing.

3. Sunfire Malphite

This isn’t a revolutionary build on Malphite, going Sunfire Aegis into full tank, compared to Season 10 (Sunfire Cape into tank). Considering his win rate is now over 60% when it hadn’t crested 52% in the previous four patches…yeah this build is OP.

The build is pretty straightforward, go Sunfire Aegis into Thornmail or Frozen Heart depending on the matchup (or even both). After that, picking up Gargoyle’s Stoneplate to gain that new shield makes you almost entirely unkillable.
