League of Legends Tier List: The Best Top Laners on Patch 10.24
By Josh Tyler
We give our League of Legends aggregated solo queue tier list for Patch 10.24, looking at the best top laners!
Patch 10.24, the first balance patch of Preseason 11, took aim at some of the most offensive top laners following the large-scale item changes that marked this preseason. Champions like Kayle got needed nerfs while crit users like Tryndamere, Yasuo, and Yone all got buffs in order to help bring them to a stronger spot. Let’s see how the changes impacted our latest tier list among top laners.
Our aggregated League of Legends tier list pulled data from ten different sites around the internet to see how they each ranked the top champions in each role in Patch 10.24. From that, we are able to give our average ranking of each champion that was graded or listed in at least half of those tier lists. As always, you can find the link to all the underlying data here.

Rising Picks
No champion had what we would consider to be a “significant” rise in this tier list, going up at least the equivalent of a half-tier or more. The champion whose stock rose the most in Patch 10.24, ironically, received nerfs that same patch. Kayle rose into the S tier this patch as she was nerfed, representing the biggest rise among top laners.
Falling Picks
On the other hand, there were nine champions that had a significant fall in Patch 10.24:
- Camille
- Fiora
- Jax
- Irelia
- Nasus
- Rumble
- Dr. Mundo
- Yone
- Cassiopeia
There were also two picks that had “massive” drops in their ranking, meaning that they fell the equivalent of over one whole tier this patch. Those champions were Akali and Pantheon. Pantheon had the biggest drop of all top laners this patch.
Underrated Picks
The top lane champion with the lowest pick rate that is also in the A tier this patch is Quinn. She currently is in the low-A tier, but has only a 1.67% pick rate this patch.
Overrated Picks
The champion with the highest pick rate who is not an A tier pick in Patch 10.24 is Aatrox. With a 10.11% pick rate, Aatrox is only a high-B tier pick this patch. In addition, Sylas and Sett are both in the top ten by pick rate, but they are both sitting in the B tier.
Buffed Champions
Tryndamere (C tier ⇒ C tier)
Yasuo (High-C tier ⇒ C tier)
Yone (C tier ⇒ D tier)
As you can see, despite these three crit users getting buffs to their kits and all three having items they can use getting buffed as well (Phantom Dancer, Essence Reaver) all three dropped in our top lane tier list. It certainly seems that crit users are continuing to suffer this preseason, not just ADCs.
Nerfed Champions
Hecarim (D tier ⇒ F tier)
Kayle (High-A+ tier ⇒ S tier)
The Hecarim nerfs seem to have done their job (although he’s fallen to “niche pick” status as a top laner), but Kayle continues to run rampant across the top lane. Don’t be surprised if she gets more nerfs next patch.
