A new set of skins are hitting the League of Legends PBE for the first patch of Season 11. Let’s check out the new Marauder and Warden skins.

Riot is kicking off League of Legends Season 11 in style per the latest PBE updates. Five brand new skins are set to arrive during Patch 11.1, three of which will be additions to the Marauder line, while the other two will be Warden skins. Let’s see which champions are getting skins and whether they appear to be worth the RP investment.

Marauder Skins

The first skin in the Marauder line up is Kalista and will cost 1350 RP. While Kalista players will be thrilled to see she is finally getting a new skin, they might reconsider when they see this one.

The color scheme is similar to Blood Moon and the armor looks like the Championship skin. Both of those skins are 975 RP, so why should I buy this one at 1350?

So, even though Kalista doesn’t get many skins, this theme just feels like an afterthought. It does look ok, as silver and red is a good combination of colors, but I can’t see a reason to get excited for this skin.

The second skin is Marauder Kled, also for 1350. Kled gets his third skin, so that’s a welcome addition, but I don’t feel like this is the best theme. We already have Sir Kled, why another Kled in armor skin? The Count Kled skin still remains his best skin, but I guess this could be an option if you don’t like Sir Kled.

The final skin in the Marauder line is Xin Zhao for 1350 RP.  Xin has a fair amount of skins that look similar to this one for a cheaper price. However, this is a bit better looking and modern, which is an advantage for this skin over the others. I would consider getting this skin if you play Xin Zhao.

Overall I’m just not the biggest fan of the Marauder line. The older skins in the line looked ok and were cheap which was good for them. This does seem like they are trying to bring new life to it, but I don’t think people will want to pay standard 1350 RP for these. Even more so if you don’t play these champions.

Warden Skins

Moving on we then have Warden Quinn at 1350 RP. This is Quinn’s fifth skin and I think it adds something different thematically. The bright blue and sliver are nice without being over the top or cartoon-looking. Valor looks sharp too rocking the blue feathers with gold accidents.  Of the newest five skins, I would name this one the best of the batch.

The final skin for Patch 11.1 is Warden Gragas for 1350 RP.  At first glance, this looks a lot like Thunder Lord Ornn. It’s after you see the cask that you know it’s Gragas.

It’s been a while since Gragas got a new look and most of his skins are aging. Yet for whatever reason, this doesn’t feel like it’s a must-buy. At 1350 it seems a bit much.

Overall the Warden skin additions feel a bit like the Marauder ones. They are trying to update an older and cheaper skin line to try and breathe life in it. Unfortunately, I think the more expensive price tag compared to their predecessors will turn off a lot of people.

Though the visuals are much better than the older Warden and Marauder skins. It’s also nice to see champions that don’t have too many options for skins get them as well. But coming off the Battle Queen and new Elderwood skin releases this seems like a big disappointment.
