LCS 2021: Ranking Every Single Starting LCS Mid Laner
By Josh Tyler
3. Nicolaj “Jensen” Jensen (Team Liquid)
There’s a very clear divide among the top three mid laners in the LCS heading into 2021. For me, Jensen is the lesser of the three, even though he is exceptionally good.

On the positive side, Jensen is an exceptional laning mid, with a 340.5 MAGXD @ 15 that included the largest experience differential at 15 minutes (382) of all mids. Those strong lane performances do translate into strong mid and late game play, as he posted a 433 GPM in 2020.
His KDA numbers are also stellar, as you would expect. With 3.7 kills and 1.5 deaths per game, Jensen had a 4.40 aKDA in 2020, second-highest for mid laners.
It should also be noted that Jensen had the strongest champion pool out of these top three mids. His Twisted Fate and Azir performances were rated as exceptional and he has the largest comfort pool (5) of these top three mid laners.
However, Jensen is the worst mid laner in terms of damage output, not just among the top three but in the LCS. With 501 DPM (which is slightly below the average for his role), Jensen posted -12.3 EDD in 2020. That means that Jensen is actually underperforming the average player in terms of damage, given his champion pool.
