Prediction: 100 Thieves have been one of the strongest teams in the Lock-In tournament, which is why they took the top seed in Group A. Immortals, on the other hand, were the worst team in Group B and they are still missing three of their imported players, Xerxe, Raes, and Destiny. I don’t think there’s any chance 100 Thieves drop even a single game this series.
Cloud9 vs. TSM
Broadcast begins: 19:00 EDT/16:00 PDT
Prediction: Cloud9 recovered from an early loss to Evil Geniuses to finish tied for first in Group B, gaining the second seed. On the other hand, TSM finished in third place in Group A, but they have not looked good in any of their games this tournament. Given that Cloud9 should be one of the best teams in the LCS coming into the tournament and TSM has looked awful, I think this will be another 3-0 series, in favor of C9.
Here’s what you need to know to watch the quarterfinals of the LCS Lock-In Tournament.
Day 2 (1/24)
Evil Geniuses vs. Golden Guardians
Broadcast begins: 16:00 EDT/13:00 PDT
Prediction: Evil Geniuses were the top seed out of Group B, managing to take down the tournament’s presumptive favorites, Cloud9. On the other hand, Golden Guardians only won a single game over lowly CLG. I know we’re getting tired of them, but I see this as another 3-0 series going the way of EG.
Team Liquid vs. FlyQuest
Broadcast begins: 19:00 EDT/16:00 PDT
Prediction: Team Liquid looked consistently good in all their games, even when losing to 100 Thieves and falling to the second seed in Group A. While FlyQuest only went 2-2, it’s important to note that they went 2-0, including beating Evil Geniuses, when Josedeodo arrived. I think this is the most competitive series of the quarterfinals, but Team Liquid comes out on top 3-2.
