TFT Patch Notes: The 5 Biggest Changes of Patch 11.6
By Josh Tyler
The newest Teamfight Tactics patch notes have dropped, with Patch 11.6 targetted at the many professional TFT tournaments now ongoing in preparation for the Fates Championship. While the week was overshadowed by news of the upcoming TFT Set 5, Reckoning, the latest patch notes are still sure to bring big changes as Set 4 winds down! Here are the five biggest changes coming to Patch 11.6 that will shape the meta!
1. Locket Nerfs

Locket of the Iron Solari
"Shield: 300/375/500 ⇒ 300/350/450"
Locket has been a good item in almost any situation and in any comp, so it’s good that Riot is nerfing it without completely removing its identity. It’s good to have some items that can be built early game, knowing that they can fit into any comp the player might pivot into later.
2. Sunfire Buffs
"Sunfire Cape is no longer Unique. Each Sunfire Cape on a unit will search for its own burn target every 2 seconds. Burn baby burn!"
This is a massive buff to tanks by helping give their favorite offensive item, Sunfire Cape, more oomph. Now, players can stack Sunfires on their most powerful frontliner and get the burn off on multiple players. This definitely helps the Brawlers comp that continues to be a strong, staple pick of TFT.
The latest TFT patch notes will bring major changes!
3. To War(lords)
Garen
"Judgement Damage: 450/675/1125 ⇒ 450/675/1250"
Vi
"Denting Blow Armor Shred: 40/60/80% ⇒ 40/50/70%Denting Blow Damage: 250/400/800 ⇒ 250/425/850"
Katarina
"Death Lotus Damage: 600/900/1500 ⇒ 650/1000/1500"
Big buffs to three of the early game Warlords champions (well, two really, the Vi changes are probably an overall nerf) makes this suddenly a viable comp once again. The biggest buff, though, is to Katarina’s 1 and 2-star ult damage. She’s usually the primary carry of Warlords comps, so this buff may make her a viable centerpiece of comps again.
4. Cho’Gath Buffs
"Armor: 60 ⇒ 70Magic Resist: 40 ⇒ 60"
Cho’Gath has been fairly underwhelming since his introduction in Set 4.5, despite the fact that he is one of those buff Brawler boys. That’s a bit odd, considering older players remember that Cho’Gath of early sets was a menace with items like Morellonomicon, Spear of Shojin, and Guardian Angel, able to knock around enemies with ease. Getting 10 extra armor and 20 extra MR is huge for a boy who could be many players worst nightmare.
5. Assassin Buffs
Diana
"Attack Speed: 0.65 ⇒ 0.7"
Talon
"Attack Damage: 90 ⇒ 95True Strike Base Damage: 85/135/400 ⇒ 100/150/400"
Two Assassins got major buffs in Patch 11.6, with Talon now gaining more attack damage and true damage early and Diana getting attack speed buffs. Both of these champions can be carries of any Assassin-based comps (Diana Spirit/Assassins, Talon Enlightened/Assassins), so this opens up the possibility that we could see either or both of those comps become meta again.
