The 2021 LEC Coaching Staff of The Year Award goes to… Rouge

Congratulations are in order for Rogue who walk away with the 2021 LEC Coaching Staff of The Year. They beat out Misfits and MAD Lions who took the second and third place respectively for this honor. Rogue has been a model of consistency the entire 2021 Season in the LEC and it’s hard to make a case that they didn’t deserve this award.

It wouldn’t be right if we didn’t highlight all of the people that came together to make this happen. A big shout out goes to Simon “fredy122” Payne (Head Coach), Marcus “Blumigan” Blom (Assistant Coach), Ismael “Ismind” Pedraza (Performance Coach), Nico “Blueknight” Jannet (Head of Analytics), Virginia “Viir” Muñoz (Analyst), and Bruno “Vannish” Cunha.

Rogue left the Spring Split with a second-place finish although tying for the best record with G2 Esports. In the playoffs they saw major success making it all the way to the Grand Finals before unfortunately falling to MAD Lions. They needed to bounce back hard and that’s exactly what they did. This recent 2021 Summer Split Rouge finished at the top of the standings, which gives them the best overall record of the 2021 LEC Season at 27-9.

It’s hard to argue that Rogue hasn’t had the best team in the LEC this year. Of course, the players go out and get the job done on the rift but the coaching staff is the glue that keeps the team together. When players get disconnected it’s the coach’s job to remind them of the goal and rally the team back together. Rogue’s consistent play is without a doubt a reflection of both the staff and the players.
