Faster minion and jungle spawn changes coming?
Developers have confirmed that ideas are being tossed around to have quicker matches when it comes to League of Legends. A faster minion and jungle spawn time would undoubtedly speed things up.
For those that play League of Legends daily and especially during long intervals of gameplay, you’ve noticed that matches tend to last anywhere from 30 minutes to even more than an hour. It all depends on various factors but sometimes due to the quality (or lack thereof) of players on both sides, it’s not hard to have a match go on for even longer periods of time until a team finally gets a win.
In an article written by Tanner Dedmon of ComicBook.com, he confirmed that developers are indeed looking at different ideas in order to speed up matches. One such idea is making minion and jungle spawn times faster which should speed things up tremendously.
Speeding up the start of a match when it comes to the spawn time of the first wave of minions and when monsters in the jungle first appear is a fantastic idea. To be honest, developers have already enabled the use of creating your own item sets before you begin to play which makes it even easier to get all your preferred items ready to be crafted without wasting time in a match doing it.

Yes, for new players to League of Legends, it might seem like a steep learning curve if the initial start of a match started quicker but it wouldn’t take long to get used to at all.
Summoners tend to practice with friends, against the A.I, and of course, the Practice Tool, in order to hone their craft in being successful. Along the way, they will pick up various strategies, techniques, and tips to improve.
If minions and jungle monsters spawned quicker, it would encourage everyone to make setting up their item list for each champion in their pool just as important as final runes and masteries. It’s all about preparation before setting foot in a match since if things were quicker at the start, everyone would get to their lanes in no time and games would end faster.
Overall, this is a great idea and would be something that makes sense to drop after the 2017 Worlds tournament. Developers have confirmed via Dedmon’s article if they make such changes to the start of matches, it would be towards the end of this year. At the end of the day, League of Legends continues to evolve into the premier MOBA to play in the world as making a big change like this to save time will only make the game even better.
