Developers confirm huge rewards for old runes system
For the many Summoners in League of Legends that invested Influence Points and even Riot Points into runes and rune pages, huge rewards are coming your way when the system is reworked.
For years now, the runes system in League of Legends was good but didn’t have the impact developers wanted for game play. They wanted a system that enabled Summoners to have options for different game changing abilities that could alter the course of a match from the start, middle, and end. Due to this, a massive update is coming to runes in late November.
What happens to all those Influence Points and Riot Points that Summoners invested in the old runes system? The great news is that it’s been confirmed developers are giving huge rewards depending on how much Summoners spent on runes and rune pages.
In an article written by Tanner Dedmon of ComicBook.com, he confirmed that developers are rewarding Summoners with Blue Essence and rare skins depending on how much they invested in the old system. Here’s what Dedmon said:
"For players that spent IP on runes before the start of this season – that date being Dec. 7 of last year – each Tier 3 Mark, Glyph, and Seal that was purchased will net players 100 Blue Essence each. Each Quintessence that was purchased will give back 300 Blue Essence as well. Pages purchased with IP will grant you 1500 Blue Essence each, and for every four rune pages purchased with RP, you’ll receive one Epic mystery skin for a champion that you own."

Dedmon also wrote about a limited time Blue Essence store opening up once the Runes Reforged update goes live after conversions are completed.
Developers are wisely taking care of Summoners that heavily spent their IP or even real money in the game by giving them the opportunity to have it all converted into Blue Essence and even getting some exclusive loot you won’t be able to get anywhere else.
At the end of the day, this is crucial for League of Legends since this new runes update is going to massively change the game and hopefully for the better. It will encourage more unique game play and also take care of those that spent a lot in the old system. With a plethora of Blue Essence coming their way, those getting some serious rewards back should undoubtedly feel satisfied that everything will be converted appropriately.
Overall, developers got it right and that’s always a good thing when it comes to such big changes like this and all the gamers it affects.
