The upcoming impact of sleep status effects
Developers of League of Legends are creating a new champion that will introduce sleep status effects into the game. It’s going to easily have such a great impact in the Summoner’s Rift.
In case you didn’t know, a new mage is currently being developed to be added to League of Legends over the next month or so. This will be a bubbly, cute, and most likely a Yordle that will bring in two unique sleep status effects into the game.
In an article written by Andrew Kim of Slingshot, he confirmed that late last week, two new status effects were added to the Public Beta Environment. Drowsy and Asleep are more than likely going to be specific to the new champion being developed and possibly even in some runes once Runes Reforged goes live.
This new ability will cause enemy champions to be in a drowsy state and then fully immobilized for a few seconds. This will undoubtedly be a game-changing ability that should add yet another level of competitiveness to League of Legends.

At this point in time, it hasn’t been revealed if being attacked either by enemies or even minions/epic monsters will remove the Asleep status.
At the end of the day, however, one can imagine that it should come in handy to use against champions that heal, stun, or can hook enemies straight to their deaths. Team fights are going to be even more exciting if any champions have these new sleep status effects ready in their arsenal.

Expect to see these new sleep status effects continue to be tweaked in the PBE and tested to ensure that they have a fair place to others of such similar effects.
