League of Legends New champion tease – Qiyana, Empress of the Elements
Riot have just introduced the next League of Legends champion release! Qiyana, Empress of the Elements, will probably hit the PBE in the next few weeks!
Just one week after the release of the Magical Cat, Yuumi, and the reveal of an upcoming Mordekaiser rework, Riot have thrown another new champion teaser at us! Qiyana, Empress of the Elements, has been unveiled in a brief, 30 second teaser video in which she showcases glimpses of her lore, weapon, and possible abilities. While very little information exists so far, we can have a look back at the champion roadmap for more insight into the new champ:

"Now let’s talk about the next new champion we plan on releasing into the wild. This new champion will be a solo lane AD assassin. It’s been a while, I know. There are very few of these types of champions in the game and we know a lot of you love playing them. This champion’s arrival will send you deep into the jungles of Runeterra where a brand new faction, hidden from the rest of the world, will reveal itself. This assassin has powers which give them all the elements they need to use their surroundings in clever and innovative ways.Trespassers beware and stay away from the walls, for nowhere is safe when you enter deep into these jungles."
If you’re a Talon or Zed enthusiast, this champion is the perfect fit for you! It looks like Qiyana will slot into the top or mid lane, dealing physical damage with both auto attacks and abilities. And speaking of abilities, the name “Empress of the Elements”, as well as her brief teaser, indicate that she’ll be channelling her inner Avatar by embracing three of four elements in her kit – earth, fire, and water (as represented by the three sections of her blade).
Qiyana will undoubtedly be a terror for vulnerable AD Carry players around the Rift, as she’ll look to assassinate them with the help of her huge, hula-hoop-like weapon. It’s expected that more information about her lore, kit, and numbers will be released in the coming days and weeks, so for right now we can just let our hype run wild while we watch the teaser and her leaked theme.
