League of Legends Champion Reveal – Qiyana, Empress of the Elements
League of Legends has a brand new champion ready to hit the rift! Let’s take a look at Qiyana, Empress of the Elements!
It seems like just yesterday that we were introducing the newest League of Legends champion, Yuumi and it was just yesterday that Riot teased this brand new champion. Luckily, it wasn’t a long wait to find out more about Qiyana’s kit, as we’ve already been gifted a new video showing off her abilities.

Not only does the Qiyana reveal introduce us to a brand new region in Runeterra – Ixtal and it’s capital city Ixaocan – Qiyana is the first new solo lane AD assassin to be introduced to League of Legends in almost seven years (the assassin reworks don’t count, Kayn is a jungler, and Pyke is technically meant to be a support). A brief synopsis of her background is below:
"In the jungle city of Ixaocan, Qiyana plots her own ruthless path to the high seat of the Yun Tal. Last in line to succeed her parents, she faces those who stand in her way with brash confidence and unprecedented mastery over elemental magic. With the land itself obeying her every command, Qiyana sees herself as the greatest elementalist in the history of Ixaocan—and by that right, deserving of not only a city, but an empire."
That’s a pretty dope backstory! She’s not only an assassin, she’s pulling some Game of Thrones sort of plot to overthrow her siblings to be next in line for the Throne. She seems very similar to like Tyrion if he were mixed with Jaime.
