League of Legends Patch 9.23 breakdown: The preseason patch
Preparations for League of Legends Season 10 have started with the first game update of the preseason – Patch 9.23!

Patch 9.23 marks the beginning of the end as Summoners across the globe prepare to say goodbye to Season 9. Following a huge change in gameplay direction in 2018, Season 9 has undoubtedly been one of the most thrilling and exciting years of League we’ve ever experienced with tonnes of early action and fast-paced games.

It doesn’t seem like that will be changing any time soon as the release of the Patch 9.23 notes revealed that the game will continue in its current lively state through preseason, but with a bunch of interesting changes to Summoner’s Rift, runes, and items.
If you’ve been living under a rock, you’ll have missed the upcoming changes to the map that will blow your mind. Now, depending on which dragon spawns third, the Rift will morph and transform adding/removing terrain or buffs around the jungle. On top of that, side lanes will now have alcoves to encourage fighting, and some brushes have been added to the jungle entrances.
There’s also a crazy amount of experience, item, and rune changes to breakdown too. Here we’ll be inserting changes directly from the patch notes, then briefly analyzing how they could change your average League of Legends game and what they could mean for gameplay going forward.
