TFT: Ranking Every Single Unit in Set 3
By Josh Tyler
With TFT Set 3 on the horizon, we rank every champion that will be available to play in TFT: Galaxies.
We’ve already broken down and ranked the best Origins and Classes that will be coming in TFT Set 3. Now, it’s time to take a look at all the units within those classes and see how their synergies, ultimates, and potential uses will stack up. We’ll break down how the champions compare in all of these areas, giving them a 1-5 rating in each, so we can properly score every champion from Set 3.
1-Cost Champions
1. Twisted Fate
Origin: Chrono (5/5)
Class: Sorcerer (5/5)
Synergy: TF gets more attack speed thanks to Chronos and he gets more mana on attacks thanks to Sorcerer. Yeah, this is a good synergy. (5/5)
Ultimate (Wild Cards): Throws three cards in a cone that deal 200 / 300 / 500 magic damage to each enemy they pass through. (2/5)
Overall rating: 17/20

2. Kha’Zix
Origin: Void (3/5)
Class: Infiltrator (3/5)
Synergy: These two traits are tailor-made for an assassin, which is exactly how Kha’Zix seems to be designed. (5/5)
Ultimate (Taste their Fear): Slashes the nearest enemy, dealing 200 / 275 / 450 magic damage to the target enemy. The damage is increased to 600 / 825 / 1350 if the target has no adjacent teammates. (3/5)
Overall rating: 14/20
3. Xayah
Origin: Celestial (4/5)
Class: Blademaster (3/5)
Synergy: Great synergy, as the Celestials will heal for a portion of damage dealt and Blademasters will (presumably) be able to proc that from their extra attacks. (4/5)
Ultimate (Deadly Plumage): Creates a storm of blades, gaining 75 / 100 / 150% bonus attack speed for 8 seconds. (3/5)
Overall rating: 14/20
4. Zoe
Origin: Star Guardian (1/5)
Class: Sorcerer (5/5)
Synergy: These traits synergize very well, since Sorcerer grants AP and Star Guardians will mainly be spell-casters. (4/5)
Ultimate (Sleepy Trouble Bubble): Hits the enemy with the highest health, dealing 150 / 225 / 300 magic damage and stunning them for 2 / 2.5 / 3 seconds. (4/5)
Overall rating: 14/20
5. Caitlyn
Origin: Chrono (5/5)
Class: Sniper (2/5)
Synergy: Very good, as Cait will get bonus attack speed from Chrono while wanting to be a long-range auto-attacker thanks to the Sniper Class. (4/5)
Ultimate (Ace in the Hole): Channels for 1.5 seconds, firing a deadly bullet that deals 800 / 1200 / 2400 magic damage to the first enemy it hits. (2/5)
Overall rating: 13/20
6. Malphite
Origin: Rebel (4/5)
Class: Brawler (1/5)
Synergy: Even though Brawler is a weaker class, the increased health it gives plus the shield and increased damage from Rebel complement each other perfectly. (5/5)
Ultimate (Energy Shield): Starts combat with a shield equal to 40 / 45 / 50% of his maximum health. (3/5)
Overall rating: 13/20
7. Ziggs
Origin: Rebel (4/5)
Class: Demolitionist (5/5)
Synergy: The traits don’t really go together, though they will benefit Ziggs. They’re just both very generically good traits to have. (2/5)
Ultimate (Bomb!): Throws a bomb at an enemy, dealing 250 / 325 / 550 magic damage. (2/5)
Overall rating: 13/20
8. Fiora
Origin: Cybernetic (2/5)
Class: Blademaster (3/5)
Synergy: Not terrible, she will get a lot of benefit from Blademaster, but that’s somewhat negated by Cybernetic not wanting to stack items on her. (2/5)
Ultimate (Riposte): For 1.5 seconds, becomes immune to damage and enemy spell effects. Upon exiting the stance, deals 200 / 300 / 450 magic damage to the closest enemy and stuns them for 1.5 seconds. (4/5)
Overall rating: 11/20
9. Jarvan IV
Origin: Dark Star (2/5)
Class: Protector (1/5)
Synergy: The traits go together to make Jarvan an ideal front-line tank and a supportive member of your comp (confirmed by his ultimate). (5/5)
Ultimate (Ageless Standard): Calls down his standard, granting nearby allies in 3-hex radius 40 / 50 / 60% bonus attack speed for 6 seconds. (3/5)
Overall rating: 11/20
10. Poppy
Origin: Star Guardian (1/5)
Class: Vanguard (2/5)
Synergy: This doesn’t help Poppy herself but it will make her a very strong front-liner in the right comp. (4/5)
Ultimate (Buckler Toss): Throws her buckler at the furthest enemy dealing 100 / 175 / 300 damage. The buckler bounces back to her, granting her a shield for 200 / 350 / 600 health. (4/5)
Overall rating: 11/20
11. Graves
Origin: Space Pirate (1/5)
Class: Blaster (2/5)
Synergy: The two traits don’t go together, but Graves will certainly benefit from the Blaster synergy. The Space Pirate trait doesn’t uniquely benefit him, it’s just a gimmicky trait. (2/5)
Ultimate (Smoke Grenade): Launches a smoke grenade toward the highest attack speed enemy, which explodes on impact dealing 150 / 200 / 400 magic damage to enemies in the area and causing their attacks to miss for 4 seconds. (5/5)
Overall rating: 10/20
12. Leona
Origin: Cybernetic (2/5)
Class: Vanguard (2/5)
Synergy: The traits don’t really compliment each other, though they do help Leona be a strong tank. (2/5)
Ultimate (Cyber Barrier): Giantize herself and reduces all damage by 40 / 80 / 120 for 4 seconds. (3/5)
Overall rating: 9/20
