League of Legends Patch 10.12 Preview: Trundle and Varus set for nerfs

Trundle and Varus are two of the champions set to be changed on Patch 10.12

League of Legends’ lead gameplay designer, Mark Yetter (aka Riot Scruffy), recently revealed a full preview of the tentative changes heading to Summoner’s Rift on Patch 10.12.

Just one week after the release of Patch 10.11, no less than 18 gameplay changes have been previewed including 11 champion changes, 2 elemental rift changes, 4 rune changes, and 1 summoner spell change. Riot Scruffy’s preview also includes a hotfix for League of Legends’ most recently updated champion, Volibear, that was implemented earlier in the week.

Although they remain subject to change, the most impactful adjustments of the patch have to be the buffs to Predator and Ghost. The Predator keystone will be receiving a mini-rework which means it no longer requires a channel to be activated and instead triggers whenever the user chases enemy champions.

As for Ghost, the summoner spell will no longer take 2 seconds to ramp up to maximum bonus movement speed, gaining it instantly instead, as well as benefitting from a new reset mechanic on takedowns.

In terms of champions, the main buffs to look out for are Akali’s Five Point Strike change that could see her become a viable solo laner on Patch 10.12, as well as Senna’s Absolution buff which may alter her gameplay and transform her into a strong ADC over the next few weeks.

On the other side of the coin, Trundle has become one of the most powerful junglers in the current meta and will see his Frozen Domain movement speed nerfed as a result. Also, the strongest marksman on the current patch, Varus, is set to receive a Piercing Arrow nerf that could limit his impact on the map with a full lethality build.
