New TFT patch notes for Patch 10.15, bringing us a brand new galaxy to explore.

After a couple of fairly boring patches, the newest Teamfight Tactics patch notes look to be making smaller changes to individual problem units rather than whole-scale class changes. We examine just how impactful these nerfs are in our TFT patch notes breakdown for Patch 10.15, as well as giving a preview of the new Plunder Planet galaxy!

Galaxies

"New Galaxy – Plunder Planet: All champions have a chance to drop a coin on death, especially the first few."

They took the Space Pirate trait and made it a part of the galaxy, which I dislike. This galaxy just inserts more gold into players’ inventories, which will accelerate the game pace as players have more gold to spend on experience. This means that games in this galaxy will skew more towards higher-cost units and go to late game quicker.

"The Neekoverse has been removed from the game."

I liked the Neekoverse, as it added a lot of interesting choices (go for 3-star early cost units or save them for a 4 or 5-cost unit). I’ll be sad to see it gone as one of the original galaxies in Teamfight Tactics.

"The Galactic Armory galaxy has been adjusted. All players now get the same 3 component items, rather than 2 completed items."

This is a great adjustment and adds more complexity to the Galactic Armory. Instead of everyone going for the same comps based on the two free starting items, there’s more room to take those items and flex them around into your desired comp.

Tier 1 Champions

Graves

"Smoke Grenade Blind Duration: 2/3/5 ⇒ 3/4/6"

This is an interesting buff for Graves since his primary trait, Blaster, doesn’t benefit at all from these changes. That said, these could make Graves a top-tier CC unit in the Blaster/Brawler comps if this change proves to be as big as it appears.

Jarvan

"Ageless Standard Bonus Attack Speed: 75/85/95% ⇒ 50/60/75%"

Even after the hotfix nerfs to Jarvan in Patch 10.14, he remained one of the strongest early game units thanks to his two traits (Dark Star and Protectors) both being ridiculously strong. Now, with his 3-star attack speed as low as his previous 1-star bonus, I think J4 is going to spend a lot more time on the bench.

Tier 2 Champions

Darius

"Health: 750 ⇒ 800Total Mana: 60 ⇒ 50"

The mana change is insignificant because you are normally hoping that Darius is getting consistent resets with kills on his ability. The health change, however, is quite significant. The longer Darius survives to drop more dunks on unwitting victims.

Lucian

"Mana: 0/35 ⇒ 0/30Relentless Pursuit Damage: 150/200/375 ⇒ 200/250/750"

These buffs are dangerous as Lucian is currently one of the strongest champions in TFT with Red Buff. Now with more dashes and more damage in a fight (and 750 damage at 3-stars is absurd) Lucian could be S tier in Patch 10.15.

Rakan

"Health: 700 ⇒ 650"

Rakan was one of the strongest and most-underrated Protectors, so a nerf was inevitable. 50 health is fairly significant, but I think Rakan will largely stay in the meta if Protectors remain viable.,

Tier 3 Champions

Master Yi

"Armor: 30 ⇒ 50Magic Resist: 20 ⇒ 35"

Do you want to see Slice and Dice Master Yi dominate the meta? Because this is how you get Slice and Dice Master Yi dominating the meta!

Tier 4 Champions

Jhin

"4th Shot Damage: 350/500/4444% ⇒ 344/444/4444%"

Love that they’re leaning into the Jhin memes with the nerfs, but this is ultimately a bigger nerf for 2-star Jhin than 3-star. That said, I don’t think that Jhin is significantly weaker after these nerfs, especially with Dark Stars largely untouched.

Jinx

"Attack Speed on 1st Takedown: 50/70/100% ⇒ 70/80/125%"

Jinx fell completely after the meta in Patch 10.14, so buffs in Patch 10.15 could very well bring her back into the meta. The buffs are most significant at 1-star and 3-stars, which are the two least-impactful star levels  in TFT. Overall, I think Jinx will be benefitted more by the buffs to other Blasters, particularly Lucian, than her own.

Viktor

Total Mana: 70 ⇒ 60

Sorcerers were in a decently strong spot in the last patch, and Viktor could easily resurge in Patch 10.15 thanks to these buffs.

Tier 5 Champions

Janna

"Starting/Total Mana: 30/100 ⇒ 20/100"

Janna is a monster in a Star Guardian comp, so I’d prefer to see them hit her max mana rather than starting. However, this nerf does at least hinder her ability to get off and running.

Urgot

"Starting/Total Mana: 50/100 ⇒ 60/100"

A small buff to Urgot, who surprisingly didn’t re-emerge as a top-tier carry in an era where Protectors were incredibly dominant. I would expect this small buff will help but not all that much.

Xerath

"Starting/Total Mana: 30/80 ⇒ 0/70"

This is overall a nerf to Xerath, because it’s unlikely he’s going to get multiple abilities off in a fight and the decreased starting mana just increases the likelihood that he won’t get off that first ability.
