League of Legends Patch 10.16 Preview: The Yone Patch

Yone and 24 champion changes are heading to League of Legends on Patch 10.16

Twenty-four champion changes. Don’t rub your eyes, don’t refresh your browser, you’re not imagining things. There are set to be twenty-four champion changes on Patch 10.16 according to Riot Scruffy’s provisional patch preview. That is one-sixth of the entire champion pool updated just two weeks before playoffs.

Oh, and Yone will be released on Patch 10.16 as well.

While it’s unusual for so many changes in a single patch, the balance team has reassured players that most changes will be “small ones” and this is an attempt to diversify the playoffs and Worlds metas, which the pros will definitely appreciate.

The three biggest tentative changes of the patch hit Sett, Yasuo, and Ziggs. Sett’s base damages are being heavily reduced which limits the number of roles The Boss can slot into in both solo queue and pro play. Often we’ve seen Sett utilized as a flex pick due to his excellent crowd control, huge shield, and high base damage, but that could be about to change thanks to these Patch 10.16 nerfs.

As for Yasuo, if he wasn’t already annoying enough, he’s destined to be after these Patch 10.16 buffs. Increased base magic resist means the Unforgiven can face off against poke mages in lane, while an improved AD ratio on Last Breath could result in some insane 1v5 plays on one of League of Legends’ most obnoxious champions.

Ziggs could be about to stage a comeback on Patch 10.16 as his excellent burst damage and wave clear could be matched with quick tower-killing. Previously nerfed due to its oppressiveness, Zigg’s Short Fuse – Satchel Charge combo is set to receive a big boost on the next patch as the Hexplosives Expert’s passive could have its base AP ratio and tower damage increased.
