The play-ins split the 10 teams into two groups of five and the teams will play a single round-robin to determine who automatically qualifies for groups, who are eliminated from the competition, and who will have to play best-of-fives to decide their fate.
Following the play-in group stage, there will be play-in elimination matches pitching the third and fourth place teams from each group against each other in a best-of-five. The winner of these matches will then face off against the second-place team from the outside of their group in a do-or-die series that will decide the final two World Championship group stage competitors.
Here’s a full guide on how you can watch the play-in stage from Friday, 25 September to Wednesday, 30 September.
Then, the main event starts with the group stage. The 16 best teams from around the globe will be split into four seeded groups of four and teams will play a double round-robin. After this, the top two teams from each group will qualify for the knockout stage.
The group stage will take place from Saturday, 3 October to Sunday, 11 October.
After the group stage, there will be a draw for the knockout stage that will decide the entire bracket, starting with the groups’ first-place teams facing off against second-place teams. The knockout stage is single elimination starting from Thursday, 15 October to the final on Saturday, 31 October.
