Reaction
The biggest news that we’re getting here is that Diana, Lee Sin, Xin Zhao, Fiora, and Lulu are all getting nerfs. Each of these champions dominate the bans for each of their respective role, Riot is doing players a service by taking these champions down a notch.
But more than just the solo queue scene this is going to have some implications on pro play as well. Lee Sin, Diana, and Xin Zhao are the three highest picked junglers right now in competitive. Some serious nerfs may force pros to go in another direction with their picks, maybe Nidalee and Shyvana who were recently buffed in 11.15 will get some time to shine.
There are some interesting buffs coming through as well in the next patch. Shaco getting a touch up will be a wait and see, ever since his bugfix went through he’s reverted back to a regular pick now that players can actually escape his ganks. So a buff is pretty unexpected, it’ll be a wait and see process on whether it’ll really change the champions trajectory.
Vladamir is in the same boat as Shaco if we’re talking unexpected buffs. Right now Vladamir is in a pretty good spot, his win rate isn’t in the toilet and he isn’t a victim of aggressive bans. A buff will either be insignificant or the thing that pushes him into being overpowered.
With Riot on their biannual break it’ll take an extra week for the full notes to be released on the next patch. Patch 11.16 is slated for release on Aug 11, check in to our website for more of the latest news on everything League of Legends.
