Meteos wants people to stop glorifying toxicity
By Andrew Ross
William “Meteos” Hartman is always open with his viewers when he is streaming, and someone asked him yesterday why he has a problem with Tyler1.
However, before we get into Meteos’ response, let’s first go over who Tyler1 is. Tyler1 is a high-elo player in North America who is a Draven one-trick pony. While he is absolutely insane at Draven (maybe the best in all of North America), he sadly is not known for that. Instead, he is known for being the most toxic player in the entire region.
No, he really is.

Tyler1 doesn’t just flame people, but he easily throws games and ruins the experience for his teammates whenever something doesn’t go his way. He could get first blooded and instantly type to his team, “Let’s open, game is over,” and when they don’t comply to his idiotic demand, he will often intentionally feed and do whatever he can do ruin the game for his team. He simply loses control if everything doesn’t perfectly go his way. It’s pathetic to watch.
You can get a feel for how toxic he is by simply reading his Twitch description. In the description, he states that he has had “17-ish” accounts permanently banned from the game.
A player like this normally wouldn’t matter at all because they would continue to get banned until they change their ways or leave the game, but that isn’t the case for Tyler1. For some odd reason, the Draven main has grown into one of the top streamers on Twitch and has a massive following. As this is being typed, he currently has over 7,000 viewers and is only being beat by Soren “Bjergsen” Bjerg and Yiliang “Doublelift” Peng.
How is this possible? Why do people support his behavior? That’s what Meteos is confused about.
Meteos hates how Tyler1’s increasing popularity makes being insanely toxic an acceptable form of behavior and said, “If you’re a fan of Tyler1, then I don’t want you to be my fan.”
That’s a bold statement, but we have to applaud him for taking a stand, because someone has to. It’s truly appalling that Tyler1 has become so popular, and the longer his run goes on, the more being toxic will be made acceptable.
It’s something that has to be stopped, and hopefully it does soon. The community doesn’t deserve players like Tyler1, and he doesn’t deserve the positive attention that he is getting.
