The NA LCS is ready to return to action in the summer after an exciting Spring Split.

It has felt like an eternity, but the North America League of Legends Championship Series (NA LCS) is finally returning to action on Friday, June 3.

The Spring Split was nothing short of amazing as North America proved to be stronger than it ever has been before.

In the past, the region has had a couple of actually good teams, a few average ones and a handful of bad ones – but that isn’t the case anymore. North America finally has a stacked top of the ladder, and even the teams in the middle are pretty damn good. For probably the first time in the history of competitive League of Legends, it’s actually good to be a fan of North America.

More from LCS

While the Spring Split was nice and all, the Summer Split is what truly matters as it means that World’s is right around the corner. That’s right, it’s business time. Missing out on the Mid-Season Invitational isn’t that big of a deal, but not playing in World’s is what will really kill a team.

There are a lot of returning faces this split, as usual,  but there are also three new organizations who will be making their NA LCS debuts.

However, the addition of three new teams isn’t even the biggest change coming into the split. The biggest change for the summer is the best-of-three format that the region has finally adapted. The new format will make things different than ever before, and it will be interesting to see how it affects all the teams.

It’s going to be a long split with the standings constantly changing, but these are the power rankings heading into Week 1.
