2016 NA LCS Summer Split Week 2 Power Rankings
By Andrew Ross
Power rankings for the second week of the NA LCS Summer Split.
It’s amazing to have the NA LCS back again, and it looks like this split could be one for the ages.
North America as a whole looked stronger than ever entering the Summer Split, and that theory looks pretty good after the first week of games.
The region has always been known for only having a couple of good teams while the rest of the NA LCS is filled with mediocrity and clown fiestas, but there are definitely more teams (and better quality teams) at the top of the ladder than ever before. The playoff race is never that big of a deal in the NA LCS, but that should finally change this split.

Besides the competition being better, the way everyone competes now is a million times better than ever before. It was going to be near impossible for North America to ever make serious strides towards competing with a top region like Korea if they continued to only play a best-of-one format.
Teams can now grow with each other over the entirety of the split with the new and improved best-of-three format, and that’s fantastic news for anyone who supports the NA LCS. A lot of people were complaining that a three-game series can seem a bit too long for a regular season contest, but that’s just something that fans are going to have to deal with if they want to support North America getting better.
The best-of-three format will also make for standings that tell a far better picture than they have in the past. If a team is low in the standings, it’s because they have truly earned it. There are no more petty excuses.
With all of that said, here are the updated power rankings after the first week of NA LCS action. This list is guaranteed to have a lot of change over the course of the Summer Split, but this is where we are now.
