Heading into the weekend of June Week 3, Soraka, the Starchild, is the top free champion to play in League of Legends.

For those that are unfamiliar with the support role in League of Legends, developers are doing their best to make it more appealing and engaging. Besides adding better features to support items, there is hope that giving free champions that specialize in the support role will entice Summoners to at least give it a try.

Whether you’ve never tried support or haven’t played it in a while, this week’s free champion rotation just so happens to have one of the best options at support to play as. Soraka, the Starchild, is an incredible support champion that is a blast to play with.

Not only is Soraka one of the top healers in League of Legends, but she can be quite the difference maker in team fights. Her kit brings abilities to slow enemy champions, heal a single enemy champion, and her ultimate, R – Wish, is a massive heal to herself and teammates around her.

At this point in time, she currently has a 52.56 percent win rate and synergizes well with Draven, Twitch, and Caitlyn.

As long as you’re patient and stack her up with armor and magic resist, she truly is a force to reckon with.

If you’re able to ban, keep in mind Soraka has problems going up against Blitzcrank, Thresh, and Nami.

Any champions with the ability to hook or stun her as she’s casting will be problematic but again, always be patient when during the laning phase.

Don’t overextend and remember, once you’re leveled and geared up, Soraka truly shines in her late-game contributions.

Overall, give her a shot if you haven’t already done so this weekend. With the new Chaos and Order event live in League of Legends, it will be quite simple to level up, earn tokens, and do your part to leave matches victorious as Soraka in the support role.
