Doublelift is the reason TSM is top team in NA LCS
Doublelift’s insane outplay against Team Liquid shows why TSM is seen as the top team in the League of Legends NA LCS.
TeamSoloMid beat Team Liquid in a best of three series Sunday afternoon. This isn’t surprising considering that TSM is considered the best team in the League of Legends NA LCS, even though they are tied with CLG and Immortals in the rankings.
Team Liquid put up a good fight. TL played much better than they have all split. They actually had TSM on the ropes in Game 2, until Doublelift pulled a Superman saying, “This ends now”.
The outplay seen above is insane and not something you see normally on the LCS tier. Being allowed to wreck from the back line and kill Renekton is what we expect from an ADC. Outplaying the AP midlaner and the tank when you’re low on life is next level.
TSM has always worked on building a team around Bjergsen, the star midlaner. There is nothing wrong with this strategy. He is a top talent who has always kept TSM in the top tiers, but having Doublelift back on the team takes it to a whole new level.
I’m not knocking WildTurtle, he is an amazing ADC. He never flowed well with TSM and it always felt like a clash of styles. Now with Doublelift back from a hiatus, we are starting to see TSM come together with a powerful synergy, and they are just getting the ball rolling.

They dominated Rift Rivals. They are tied for first with Immortals and CLG at home. Even with the tie, the popular opinion follows that TSM is the best team in America, and that isn’t just fanboys talking.
What is the biggest difference between TSM now and the TSM from Spring Split? Doublelift.
For what it’s worth, I hope TSM are truly on a roll this year. Nothing would be more disappointing than seeing them dominate all summer before dropping the ball at Worlds this fall. TSM dominating the competition in the NA LCS isn’t the measure of greatness for this team, it’s making a showing at Worlds this year.
