Dardoch is out, OmarGod is in for Counter Logic Gaming, but is it working out for their League of Legends Esports team? The answer is a resounding yes.

On July 25th, Counter Logic Gaming released a statement notifying the community that Dardoch was being released from their organization and they were bringing in a new, rookie jungler. It has been two weeks since they have brought in OmarGod to replace Dardoch and it is working well for their League of Legends Esports team.

CLG has a series 50 percent win rate since OmarGod has joined the team. This doesn’t sound great but you need to look at the context, it’s a little more understandable. They have faced four teams in the last two weeks.

TSM is the top team in the NA LCS, so it was unlikely they were going to beat them, so I can’t hold that against OmarGod. They beat Team Dignitas and Team Envy which is no small feat. Both teams have been very strong recently. Their loss to Phoenix1 is perplexing, to say the least, and I can’t really quantify that one.

Now would be the part where I show you the OmarGod highlight reel, right? The crazy awesome plays that make him a star jungler on CLG? Well, he isn’t the carry jungler. He doesn’t make the hype Nidalee plays that MikeYeung does. OmarGod is the jungler who will help his laners get ahead and carry the game. This is the kind of jungler that CLG needs.

More from LCS

CLG already has some amazing star players on their squad. This season we have seen Darshan make some sick top lane outplays, we have seen Huhi wreck house all over the map, and Aphromoo is legendary among shot callers in the NA LCS.

CLG doesn’t necessarily need a player who is going to shine above the rest, they need someone who can help elevate these already outstanding players to new heights. Help them get the ball rolling so they can crush the competition.

Going into playoffs, we can see how Omargod fares against the best in North America. I’m excited to see what CLG can do as a strong team. Their first series is against Team Envy on Aug 20.
