League of Legends: LCS Week 6, Day 2 predictions
By Josh Tyler
After a slate of crazy results on Saturday, the LCS returns on Sunday for – hopefully – some more predictable League of Legends action.
Well, this week of LCS play has gotten off to a wacky start. Echo Fox took down Cloud9, 100 Thieves beat OpTic, and FlyQuest beat Golden Guardians. Should we expect the trend of upsets to continue on the second day of League of Legends games?

FlyQuest vs. Team Liquid
One of the big upset winners on Day 1, FlyQuest took a shocking win over Golden Guardians to keep their playoff hopes alive. Can they continue their recent hot streak against Liquid, who just took control of their destiny as the best team in the LCS? It seems unlikely, especially considering how inept FlyQuest has been this split in mid-to-late game decision-making.
Prediction: Liquid
Cloud9 vs. TSM
Maybe the biggest game of the day with regards to playoff implications. Since TSM won the first meeting of the summer, if they take tomorrow’s game they not only take a one-game lead over C9 they will own the tiebreaker should their records be even at the end of the split. That said, Cloud9 – despite all their inconsistent results – have been the overall stronger team this split and should be favored.
Prediction: Cloud9
CLG vs. Golden Guardians
Two teams that are in desperate need of a win after disappointing losses on Saturday. Golden Guardians, especially, will be in desperation mode after falling to FlyQuest, and now sitting only one game ahead of three teams in that sixth and final playoff spot. On the other hand, CLG may have lost to Liquid, but they’re hardly in panic mode considering a win could keep them even with the winner of C9 vs. TSM for the second spot.
Prediction: CLG
100 Thieves vs. Echo Fox
Who would have thought, two or three weeks ago, that 100 Thieves would be only one game out of the playoff hunt. Facing Echo Fox, a team that might be even or slightly ahead of them in terms of pure team prowess, the Thieves should have all the momentum.
Prediction: 100 Thieves
Clutch vs. OpTic
Clutch had two chances this week to crawl right back into the playoff hunt. Despite their loss to TSM on Saturday, Golden Guardians’ own loss has kept them within one game.
On the other side, OpTic just lost to two of the bottom-tier LCS teams themselves in 100 Thieves and FlyQuest. Dropping another game to a team outside the playoff picture in Clutch would cause their fans to reach for the panic button.
Prediction: Clutch
