League of Legends LEC Week 5 Player power rankings
Another week of LEC action brings another week of thrills, spills, shocks, upsets, and G2 and Fnatic back at the top of the table. European League of Legends has never been more competitive with ten teams all still in contention for a playoff place after eight games.
Following the fourth week of LEC games, the standings have split into a clear top three (G2 Esports, Fnatic, Splyce) and a bottom seven (the rest). Surprisingly, Spring Split’s runners-up Origen have found themselves languishing in joint 4th place after losses to Splyce and Rogue over the last two weeks, proving that EU doesn’t just have three talented League of Legends teams.

Week 4 provided a bunch of firsts in the LEC Summer Split! Excel Esports’ picked up their first win against SK Gaming, Fnatic los their first game against Splyce, and Qiyana made her first competitive European appearance since her release. But which players impressed most and how do the player power rankings look heading into Week 5?
Top Lane
1 Martin “Wunder” Hansen (G2 Esports)
2 Gabriël “Bwipo” Rau (Fnatic)
3 Barney “Alphari” Morris (Origen)
4 Tamás “Vizicsacsi” Kiss (Splyce)
5 Jun-hyung “Profit” Kim (Rogue)
6 Lucas “Cabochard” Simon-Meslet (Team Vitality)
7 Toni “Sacre” Sabalić (SK Gaming)
8 Dae-han “Expect” Ki (Excel Esports)
9 Andrei “Odoamne” Pascu (Schalke 04)
10 Paul “sOAZ” Boyer (Misfits Gaming)
VIT Cabochard
Team Vitality may be under-performing in the LEC at the moment, but their top laner Lucas “Cabochard” Simon-Meslet has continued to showcase why he’s one of the most highly-regarded players in his role. While his teammates have continuously teetered on the border between struggling and inting, Cabochard has put on consistent displays with an impressive champion pool.
Week 4 brought Vitality their third win of the Summer Split and once again Cabo was on fine form with a Karma top pick that proved difficult for Misfits Gaming to handle. Winning three of their last four has put Vitality on course to challenge for playoff spots and they’ll continue to lean on their top laner’s reliable, consistent performances to push on towards sixth place.
SK Sacre
Toni “Sacre” Sabalić was one of the few rookies heading into the Summer Split and looks set to challenge the likes of Inspired and Larssen to reclaim the coveted Rookie of the Split award for his team following Selfmade’s achievements in Spring. On SK Gaming Prime the Croatian top laner showcased a proficiency on teamfight-oriented, carry champions and landed his team a place in the EU Masters Spring final. Since his promotion to the main SK roster, he’s continued to show he’s got what it takes to challenge at the top of European League of Legends.
In Week 4, SK Gaming went 0/2 against Splyce and Excel Esports. Sacre’s Ryze and Vladimir failed to impress as his team failed to take advantage of an opportunity to secure a spot in 4th place. With matches against Origen and Fnatic on the horizon in Week 5, will SK Gaming rue their missed chances and tumble down the standings?
