League of Legends: Comparing Pokemon to LoL Champions

With the announcement today of a new Pokemon MOBA, we are going to look at the champions and roles in our favorite MOBA, League of Legends to see where the original 151 Pokemon might fit.
The news today that a Pokemon MOBA game is in development got a lot of people, particularly the League of Legends community excited. Pokemon was one of the most influential games of its generation and Pokemon Unite rumored to be a game both for the Nintendo Switch and mobile, it could bring a whole new audience to the MOBA genre.
Many prospective players of Pokemon Unite might be looking to use League of Legends as a way to learn this new genre of game. League of Legends veterans might be interested in trying out a new MOBA, but wondering how the game will translate to Pokemon.
To that end, we’re going to compare each of the OG 151 Pokemon to champions in League of Legends and predict which role their kit would best translate to if Pokemon Unite is structurally the same as League. One caveat I make first is that I will be grouping all evolutions of Pokemon together (so I will consider Charmander, Charmeleon, and Charizard together). This is because I am assuming that there will be some mechanic in Pokemon Unite that will allow each character to evolve and get stronger, much like League of Legends champions leveling up or buying items.
